Membership Agreement
ASSOCIATEDONLINE asked:
On 6-26 there was a post about substituting a different membership agreement. EDL (Westside) responded that  you were addressing this in your upcoming release. I cannot find anything in V2 for this. Was it addressed? I am finding that my clients are reluctant to test my applications if they have to agree to the membership agreement. To get around this I can make the application anonymous, however, that does allow me to demonstrate the Westside security features.

I recently wrote (responding to a private support request):

The first pre-requisite for you is to get your web on your own hosted domain, not on 'westside.com'.

Then you will be able to take advantage of the following implementation of syspages.RegisterView(), which has not yet been fully documented, but should be soon.

syspages.ws

RegisterView([must_agree_bool, [strAgreeUrl]]);

must_agree_bool - defaults to true.  setting to false turns off the agreement checkbox and link on the registration form.
strAgreeUrl - allows the user to link the agreement page to any view in any web.

These parameters only function in a private domain.  In the westside domain, all users must agree, and must agree to the westside member agreement.

When the documentation is fixed, this information will appear at:

http://helpv2.westside.com/default.view?Topic=objectmodel/wsextensions/syspages

  brendanx responded:
Hmmm...  But I don't seem to have mentioned that the place you will find the call to RegisterView() that you can edit to take advantage of these features is:

/System/SystemPages/Register.view

in your web.

  This issue is open.
  ASSOCIATEDONLINE responded:
I have my own domain now and I changed the must_agree to false and that works OK.

The str(agreeUrl) does not. The method shown in the response and the help does not appear to be correct. Are the brackets balanced?

Can you give me an example of the correct code.

Thanks

  dougl responded:
The brackets indicate that these variables are optional. They are not meant to appear in your code.

Try

ResigterView( true, "http://www.westside.com" )

as a test. This should present your users with a membership agreement checkbox + a link to http://www.westside.com. Once you've posted your membership agreement, you can change the

part of this code to point to your actual membership agreement.

(If you set the must_agree part to false, it doesn't make much since to link to a membership agreement that isn't required.)
