cmdSelect.setFilter()
Syntax

cmdSelect.setFilter(filter)

Arguments Description
filter Sets the filter for the cmdSelect object, overwriting any prior filter setting. An exception is thrown if an invalid filter is provided.

Returns

Return value is undefined.

Description

cmdSelect.setFilter() specifies the filter that determines what will be returned by the cmdSelect.execute()method. The filter can be an object, object literal, or a filter syntax string to denote whole columns or just portions of columns. To review filter syntax, use the filter link above.

Example

The following setFilter()example uses a string to set the filter. It prints out the email addresses for individuals with the last name "Smith".
  var sel = new cmdSelect("AddressBook");
  sel.setFilter("LastName = 'Smith'");
  var rs = sel.execute();
  while(rs.next())
      {
      response.write(rs.Email + "<br>");
      }
