DataWeb User's Guide

Adding a New Member
To add a new member to your web, select the Members tab in the DataWeb Designer, and click the New button. Enter the email address for the member you wish to add, then specify which security group the new member will belong to. The default choice is the Guest group.

After you specify which group a member belongs to, you can either add that member immediately by clicking the Send Email button, or click More Members if you want to add more than one member at once.

You can compose a custom message to be added to the invitation email; the same message will be sent to all members that you add. When you're done adding members, click Send Email to send the invitation email.

If you want to add members to the AddressBook data table which exists in your web by default, make sure that the Add new members to AddressBook option is selected.

The following table describes the security groups that a member can belong to:

Administrators Add the member to the Administrators group if you want them to have substantial control over your web. By default, members of the Administrators group can add members to the web or delete other members from the web and modify security settings. However, you can change these permissions for the entire web or for individual data tables.
Staff Add the member to the Staff group if you want them to have fewer permissions than an administrator but more than a generic member. The Staff group is useful for defining a set of users who manage data in the web. By default, members of the Staff group can design forms and edit records, but you can modify these permissions for the entire web or for individual data tables.
Members Add the member to the Members group if you want them to have basic permissions. By default, members of the Members group can read records and browse the files of your web, but you can modify these permissions for the entire web or for individual data tables.
Guests Add the member to the Guests group if you want them to have more limited permissions. By default, members of the Guests group can read records, but they cannot browse the files of your web. If you wish you can modify these permissions for the entire web or for individual data tables.
