Table.getDefaultSortField
Syntax

tableInstance.getDefaultSortField()

Returns

The getDefaultSortField() method returns a string.

Description

The getDefaultSortField() method returns (as a string) the default sort field of the table object as set by setDefaultSortField().

Example

 //Assume there is a Table object instance named 'tbl'.
tbl.setDefaultSortField("LastName");
    response.write("The default sort field is " 
    + tbl.getDefaultSortField());
